Because I need to remember this always

I visited my friend Kristin while in Ireland.

One night we were sitting in her room and surfing the internet. We found one of those stupid magazines, People or something, that had a dealio on child stars. Child stars in the 70s, 80s or 90s that had grown up now. What they look like now. We didn’t recognize a lot of the names, but it was fun to see what had changed about them.

So, imagine us there.

*click* “Oh, she look nice.” “Yeah, her hair is better blond*

*click* “I remember that show!” “Aw, he’s definitely cuter now.”

*click* “Huh.” “No big deal there.”

*click* “Nice!” “Really great eyes.”

Then…

*click* “UGH!” “UGH!”

Both of us recoiled. And we said “Ugh!” at the same time, in the same way. It was such an instinctive, horrified reaction, with no collaboration on our parts… we just did it. And the dude wasn’t even that ugly. I swear, it was like Jerry Mathers on Leave It To Beaver, as he looks now.

Where the guy looks absolutely normal. He was maybe 20 pounds overweight and slightly unkempt, but totally normal. It’s just, after this line of beautiful people still being beautiful…

… we recoiled.

We laughed about that for a long freaking time. Good memory.
